Look What's Pakalat Kalat At Home

Yes! This is what I've found pakalat kalat in the house. I suspect that this was from my mother-in-law's employer. To make sure that what I've found at home is the same spread that's been all over blogs, tweets, FB statuses, instagram and or any other site possible, I googled it and I was right.

I immediately got a big spoon and tasted it. No, I think I took a picture of if first. No, I think I tasted it first before I took a picture. Okay! Whatever!! But I was surprised to see something like this in the house that was not yet emptied, meaning....the house full of boys don't like it?! Let's move on....

So, I took a spoonful and put it all inside my mouth. I took my time savoring this cookie spread, I even closed my eyes with these words in mind "this is the cookie spread that's been all over internet.....it's expensive, I gotta know what's behind the social media hype..."

I opened my eyes when I finished chewing the first spoonful of that spread and decided to scoop another one then put them inside my mouth, but this time, the serving was half smaller, meaning I scooped only a quarter of spoon size. I chewed, no I think what I did was something like sipping something or kind of like sucking my own tongue in that kind of way.

Okay, I think two batches of slow chewing slash sipping kind of way of this very famous spread was enough. I have to have a verdict, and it's something I was not expecting.

Don't get me wrong. It was delicious. IT IS DELICIOUS!  But because of the popularity I thought it would taste something like the cookie-spread-that-will-change-the-way-you-look-at-spreads-forever delicious. But it's not. Sorry, maybe it's just that my pang-poor taste or my taste buds is not used to expensive or imported stuff.

I scrutinized the label and surprised that this was a product of the Netherlands and distributed by Trader's Joe. It has canola oil and some other kind of oils that made it taste oily (okay, that was stupid of me, obviously)

Anyway, I'm still thankful that I've got to try this but I'm happy with Ludy's and Nutella!

Happy Weekend!

On the sweet side siya sis no? At first, I was surprise by the taste too. I was expecting kasi na para syang peanut butter. But no, its different. But habang paubos na, I love it more. Habang tumatagal, lalong sumasarap. :)
Top it on hot pancakes, sis. Yum! :)

  4. I got to try only the original creamy version of TJ's Cookie Butter, but they oughtta taste pretty much the same save for the crunchy factor, right? Still, I like Lotus Biscoff crunchy spread better. :p At mas gusto ko siya papakin, too sweet kapag naka-spread sa tasty. Haha.
